The Profile
From the gyms of Detroit to a worldwide professional run — built on defense, motor, and a refusal to let gaps in the road end the journey.
Donovan Saine is a 6'5" forward from Detroit, Michigan, who plays with the versatility of a wing and the toughness of a frontcourt player. He prepped at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia — one of the most storied high-school programs in America — winning back-to-back NACA national championships.
After a freshman season at Xavier University of Louisiana, Saine moved to Hocking College in Ohio, where he became a featured scorer and earned OCCAC Player of the Week honors.
When the pandemic stalled his momentum, Saine bet on himself — flew to Valencia for EuroProBasket's European Summer League, dominated the glass, and earned his first professional contract in Extremadura, Spain, debuting with a 33-point, 20-rebound performance. He has since taken his game to China's NBL.
